KRISTY OSHIRO SENSEI
Kristy Sensei was born and raised in Kona, Hawai'i and began studying Taiko in 1992 as a member of Kona Daifukuji Taiko under the direction of Reverend Ryuji Tamiya. From 2001-2007 she was a touring member of Portland Taiko while earning a degree in music performance in percussion at Portland State University. After graduating, Kristy moved to Sacramento where she was an artistic staff member of Sacramento Taiko Dan for 7 years. She has been with Placer Ume Taiko since 2008 and we are very pleased to have her as our Creative Director.
